Note that whilst there is an "A" gala and a "B" gala, this does not imply that "A" teams will swim in the "A" gala etc:
Galas:
For details on draws, results and tables, see Gala Draws and Results.
Spectator admission by programme only - £2.50 per person - OAPs (60 and over) and children (under 16) free entry. The entry fees go to cover the cost of the pool hire.
For guidance, typical gala times are below, but make sure you know what your gala times actually are!
| Pool doors open | 5:50pm, (due to previous pool users) |
| Warm-up | 6:00pm |
| Gala Start | 6:30pm |
| Typical end | 8:30pm |
For Round 3 (final round), the top half of the teams normally swim one venue, whilst the other teams, swim at the other (although some changes may be made to "balance" the numbers of teams at each gala)
For 2012 the teams are:
| Teams | |||
| Abingdon Vale | Bracknell & Wokingham | Maidenhead Marlins | Slough & Eton |
| Amersham "A" | Chalfont Otters | Newbury & District | Windsor |
| Amersham "B" | Chesham | Reading | Wycombe & District |
Requirement
Each Club is required to supply a person to act as a timekeeper for their team, and a person to be a judge. (This is in addition the officials a hosting club will arrange to attend - which will be the referee(s), starter, chief timekeeper(s), announcer and recorder(s))
Mentoring
There is almost always opportunities for officials under training to progress. There is no requirement to be licensed at TVJL galas, but we try and always have a licensed referee in charge so that mentoring and assessments can take place. It helps us if we know beforehand who is interested, and in what. Please make sure your team supplies the required officials as detailed above (unless agreed with the referee.)
Make sure you bring your workbook, and show it to the referee before the briefing so that appropriate mentoring can be arranged. In the event of not enough officials / too many mentoring requests pre-arranged requests will normally get priority over walkup-on-the-night.
